The beautiful town of Knysna nestles on the shores of the Knysna Lagoon. [Lagoon to the uninformed, for those of us with the know how, its really an estuary] but regardless, lets forget the insignificant details and inform that in Knysna one of the most exciting things to do is to embark on a little ferry trip on the ‘Lagoon’ or a yacht trip through the Heads.
Knysna Heads is known to be the ‘most striking geological feature along the entire southern African coastline.’ The East and West Head flank a deep but potentially treacherous channel through which the sea pours in to flood the wide Lagoon/ Estuary at the source of the Knysna River. So as you cruise around in style you get to see the beautiful homes on the banks. The homes along the Heads make one feel like they are on the Rivera. Nice. So there you have it folks, it’s definitely an activity for the young and the old, with a selection of eateries, and shops around for your browsing pleasures.
