Deep in the heart of the Eastern Cape Midlands, enfolded by a picturesque mountain-scape and embracing an infinite stretch of exquisite rolling plains, ravines and wooded valleys is the captivating domain of the Cape mountain zebra known as the Mountain Zebra National Park. Set within the craggy heights of the Bankberg in a prolific neighborhood of flora and fauna, is a bird lovers paradise, boasting an abundance of bird life.

Mountain Zebra National Park is the perfect place for hiking adventures and prime game viewing. Herds of these great grazing zebra's, buffalo's with their flanks of ebony and horns of steel, Rhino's and a variety of antelope can be spotted in their natural habitat with the Caracal lurking nearby as the chief predator.

Reside in a lush, lavish and laid back atmosphere and indulge in personal attentive service. Enjoy a tasty meal at the a la carte restaurant, refresh yourself with a revitalizing dip in a sparkling pool or rediscover the magic of nature on a horseback ride. All this can be found at the Main Camp in the Park.

Accommodation at the Mountain Zebra National Park is serviced daily and provided with bedding, towels and soap and comprises 19 4-bed cottages and a restored Victorian homestead that can accommodate 6 people. The park is also equipped with electrified caravan and tent camps with communal ablution facilities, all set within the picturesque mountain panorama. Mountain Zebra has 20 camp sites all supplied with power points, Communal ablution & barbecue facilities. Mountain Zebra has 19 family cottages, with 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds, fully equipped kitchen, W/c and bath. Mountain Zebra Guest House has 1 en suite bedroom with 2 single beds 2 en suite bedrooms, each with 1 double bed, 3 bathrooms, each with w/c, basin and bath and a fully equipped kitchen.

"Excellent facilities - breathtaking scenic route with the icy waterfalls. The only negetive comment: the firewood bought at the shop not dry enough resulting in a very smokey fireplace."
