Accommodation at the camp includes a series of camping sites, with electricity points, and communal kitchens. A further two guest houses, Domkrag and Hapoor, stand watch over the local watering hole, and come fitted with en suite bathrooms, air conditioning, fully equipped kitchens, and can accommodate up to six people.
Further accommodation is available in a series of charming chalets, with sleeper couches, air conditioning, and fully equipped kitchens. Two of these units are also wheelchair friendly. Six semi-detached units, eight cottages, and six rondawels add to the total available living space, surrounding a gorgeous watering hole. Units are air conditioned, with kitchenettes, bar-fridges, microwave ovens, and the rondawels share a communal kitchen. Forest cabins with braai (barbecue) facilities, and family chalets hosting a maximum of six people each, with fully equipped kitchens and air conditioning round off the available accommodation.
Adventure activities at Addo rest camp include guided horse trails, and peaceful and informative game drives, coordinated and led by a team of experienced and eager professional field guides. Guests are asked to keep in mind that children under the age of six are not permitted on game drives.
Facilities include a restaurant, a curio shop, swimming pool, and a day visitor’s braai (barbecue) / picnic area.
Animal spotting at Addo Rest Camp incorporates the area’s Red Bishop bird hide, PPC discovery trail (wheelchair and sight-impaired friendly), an underground hide and hop-on tours, showcasing the area’s impressive red hartebeest, common duiker, eland, spotted hyena, kudu, grysbok, bushpig and Burchill’s Zebra, among many other awesome animals, and around 250 species of bird.
