If you want a relaxing, restful safari, this is not for you. If you want a value for money experience, where you are on the go for the entire time, where you stay in the bush with animals around you (Monkeys & Antelope)and where the guides are great fun, then book this trip.
You are picked up around 9am from your accomodation in Jo'burg and drive northwards towards the Kruger. Whilst this is a six hour drive, it's broken up with plenty of breaks, including an hour or so for lunch in a lovely little town.
On the first afternoon you get an evening drive, which lasts a couple of hours. After this you are transferred to Marcs Tree House camp, where the accomodation is clean and more than adequate. If you are expecting 5 star luxury, this is not for you. The camp is in the middle of the bush and you really do experience the feel of this. Dinner and breakfast is provided each day and the staff at the camp are very friendly.
For the next two days, breakfast is at 7.30am and you leave for your safari at 8am sharp. The gate to the park takes about 45 mins to drive to. When you reach the park, you transfer to open game viewing vehicles and then basically spend until around 6pm game viewing, with about an hours break for lunch. The guides were excellent and ensured that everyone had a great time and saw loads of animals.
On the last morning, you are up for a 6am game walk before breakfast. This is an easy walk and lasts for about an hour.
At about 8am you depart for Jo'burg, but do plenty of sightseeing on the return journey. You get back to Jo'burg at about 4pm. You can be dropped off at either your hotel or at the airport.
This was a tiring trip, but one that was superb and in respect of 'value for money', I thought it was excellent. I would certainly consider doing this trip again in the future, although may look to extend and do the six day option.
