Perched high on a hilltop the house boasts magnificent panoramic views over the entire Swartvlei Estuary. House Balbina's central location means that it is less than five minutes away from the beaches, lakes, and towns of Sedgefield as well as a short and very scenic drive in either directions to the other Garden Route destinations and attractions of Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, Wilderness, George and Mosselbay.

The area is filled with a great diversity of natural habitat and wildlife, including unspoiled sea scalloped beaches, secluded caves, emerald green hills, wild indigenous forests and sparkling crystal lakes, lagoons and rivers. This nature lover's paradise has a temperate climate, is well known for its whale watching, and dolphins can be seen playing in the surf all year round. Indigenous forest walks, hikes and mountain bike rides are all on your doorstep and for the more adventurous, quality paragliding or bungi jumping sites are seemingly everywhere.
