When Joachim van Plettenberg, Governor of the Cape arrived in 1778 he was so taken by the natural beauty of the bay, he named it after himself. Plettenberg Bay, as it later became known, embraces one of the most glorious sweeps of coastal scenery in South Africa. Relax in the luxury of a spaciously furnished bedroom where attention has been given to detail to make you feel even more special. Fine continental, Health or Farmhouse breakfast is served in the open veranda overlooking the ocean and lagoon.
