Situated on the outskirts of the well known town of Outshoorn is the lovely Rosenhof Country House with its absolutely gorgeous landscaped garden and welcoming atmosphere. Oudtshoorn is approximately a half an hours drive from George and is in the Karoo.

There are 10 double rooms where nine of the rooms offer two single beds and the other offer one king sized bed, 2 twin rooms with separate double beds and 2 executive suites located 100 meters from the main house with its own fireplace and private swimming pool. The rooms all have coffee/tea making facilities, a mini-bar, satellite TV, telephone, air-conditioner, a writing desk and hairdryer.

The restaurant offers traditional country cuisine and a superb selection of wines in a great setting. Breakfast can be enjoyed while overlooking the well landscaped garden and enjoying the fresh morning air. Oudtshoorn is just around the corner if you feel like visiting one of the local restaurants one evening or want to simply explore the area.

Oudtshoorn is famous for its yearly festival where all the local talent around South Africa get together and perform outstanding plays in informal locations. The town literally comes to life with the main street being closed off for entertainment, stalls, singing and shows. A great visit is the Cango Caves where you can explore the local cave and learn all about the caves from the local guide. The Crocodile Farm and Ostrich Farm offers great fun for the children where on occasion you yourself can ride one of the ostriches. Oudtshoorn is also full of arts and crafts from ostrich eggs to bushmen masks. If you want to see the area from above there are fun hot-air balloon rides. Oudtshoorn is a great place to explore and the people are very friendly.
