Lake Views Cottage and Noah's Ark are self-catering guest cottages, each set in 11 hectares of pine forest and fynbos. Situated in the heart of the Garden Route, on a hill overlooking the Indian Ocean above Swartvlei Lake, they are a short drive from Sedgefield and are perfectly placed to enjoy many of the wonders of this region. We welcome nature lovers and artists, lone travellers, families, and everything in between. The term “Garden Route” was conceptualised some decades ago to market and promote this extraordinarily beautiful coastal plain which lies between the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma mountains on the north, and the Indian Ocean on the south. The “Garden” stretches along 140 kilometres of coastline between Still Bay in the west and Storm’s River in the east. It is rich in diversity and unparalleled in its beauty, dense in species with pristine fynbos dunes, towering indigenous forests, gentle meandering rivers through undulating valleys, interspersed with steep ravines and magnificent mountain ranges, plunging shoreline cliffs and rocky shores, as well as soft, sandy beaches and a succession of wonderfully varied lakes. The region offers virtually every conceivable aspect of natural beauty imaginable, and it is easy to see why it is often referred to as “the Garden of Eden”.A rich diversity of bird species thrive in this wide range of habitats, making this region a bird watcher’s paradise, and outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers revel in this idyllic platform.
