Most chalets accommodate two, and the family suites can comfortably accommodate five people. Each log chalet is luxurious and individually decorated, have private patios, air-conditioning, barbecues, and are serviced daily. Four of the units each have a Jacuzzi bath and fireplace, three units have private splash pools, and the executive chalet has a private spa for the ultimate in pampering.

Guests can look forward to a healthy breakfast which can, on request, be served in your chalet. For our guests' convenience we offer an affordable on-site laundry service. Sun loungers invite you to enjoy the welcoming coolness of the main swimming pool which is set in tranquil gardens where you can also enjoy a light lunch at the pool pavilion.

For a truly unique experience, come and stay for a week at Tonquani, and join us in our annual oyster festival which draws thousands of people to our shores to celebrate, and from a reliable source, devour more than two hundred thousand oysters in 10 days! The cultivated Knysna Oyster is unique to this area, and is famous for its fresh and nutty taste. The wild coastal oyster is also readily available at local eateries, and are more salty in taste.

Knysna is one of the most beautiful quaint little towns along the Garden Route, and nestles between the impressive Outeniqua Mountains, the Indian Ocean and flanked by forests measuring some eighty thousand ha in size, which are managed to strict conservation principles. These forests are also home to the only forest elephants in South Africa. Knysna also has some unique but endangered species such as the Knysna seahorse, the Brenton Blue Butterfly, the delicate Pansy shell and the dwarf chameleon.

A wonderful experience for adults and children would be a visit to Monkeyland, a multi-species sanctuary where primates roam freely through the forest. Guests will be taken on a hour long guided forest walk where more insight is given on the different primates which range from gibbons, lemurs, capuchins to squirrel monkeys - all enjoying a natural environment. No physical contact is allowed between humans and the primates. There are platforms where fruit and vegetables are provided as the forest does not provide enough natural food. Monkeyland is situated between Plettenberg Bay and Knysna.

Accommodation

All chalets have private patios and are equipped with mini bar, DSTV (Hotel Bouquet), DVD player, hairdryer, heater and air-conditioning. Eight of the chalets have fireplaces. Our tariff includes breakfast which is served in the dining room at reception, but you are welcome to pre-arrange for your breakfast to be taken to your chalet. If you need a cot, please make arrangements prior to arrival to ensure availability. Our chalets are serviced daily so that you can have an enjoyable and relaxing stay with us. Undercover parking is provided on the premises.

Relax around the swimming pool which is set in tranquil gardens, or enjoy total relaxation and pampering in the Spa. Facilities in the Spa include a relaxing area with recliner; sauna; relaxation beds and two massage and therapy rooms. Highly trained qualified therapists offer Aromatherapy Massage, Reiki, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage as well as orthodox beauty treatments.

A light lunch can be ordered from our menu to enjoy at the pool pavilion, or you can arrange for a picnic basket or pre-packed barbecue to enjoy outdoors.
