Bubuhle Self-Catering Cottages in Hogsback offers you a quiet romantic retreat located high in the dreamy mists of the Amatola Mountains on the Eastern Cape. Hogsback is memorable for its picturesque loveliness during all seasons: the cornucopia of blossoms in spring, the majestic waterfalls and lush green of the aboriginal forests in summer, the resilient beauty of the oaks, maples and various other deciduous trees in autumn, and the magic of pristine snowfalls in winter.

Bubuhle sprawls over a 15-acre property in its own valley with a perpetual tumbling stream and wetland. We offer three self-catering thatched cottages: Hadeda Cottage for four guests, Heron Cottage for two and Loerie Cottage for two.

The accommodation at Hadeda Cottage includes an open-plan sitting, dining and kitchen area with a charming fireplace. The master bedroom contains a queen-size bed, as well as an en-suite shower and toilet. Over the living area is a mezzanine level which contains two single beds. The kitchen is fully functional, complete with gas stove, geyser, microwave oven and fridge. All the necessary cooking and eating utensils are provided. Bedding and towels are available.

The accommodation at Heron Cottage consists of a queen-size bed, two easy chairs and a fireplace in the main area, with en-suite shower and toilet. An open plan design leads into the extended kitchen/dining area. The kitchen contains a gas stove, geyser, microwave and fridge. We supply all kitchen utensils, as well as fresh bedding and towels.

The Loerie Cottage is a large open-plan cottage with queen-size four-poster bed in front of the open fireplace and seating area. The extended kitchen/dining area contains a gas stove, geyser, microwave and fridge. We supply all kitchen utensils, as well as bedding and towels. The cottage has an open indoor shower and separate toilet, as well as an outdoor shower.

Each of the cottages has its own outside braai, and we supply firewood.

Activities at Hogsback are inclusive of fine dining at a number of hotels, pubs and eateries! There are various scenic routes for walks, hiking and cycling. Horse-riding is also available, as is trout fishing at the two public dams.
