Camdeboo Manor

It's not often that one gets the opportunity to luxuriate ion the tranquility of the Karoo country side knowing that the town centre of Graaff Reinet is a brief 5 min drive away. Liesl and Stephen de la Harpe created Camdeboo Manor so that you can experience this calmness and serenity to its fullest. From the moment you drive through the gates a sense of well being and washes over you and the warm welcome makes you feel as if you belong.

Particularly appealing is the fourposter, canopied bed: it is high, wide and handsome, and extra long, which I believe was imported from the ancient spice island of Zanzibar! The bathroom is roomy, and fitted with a gleaming, old fashioned high backed bathtub. What a civilized tub! You get a deep bath, plus you can lean back without bending your neck 90 degrees. The guest amenities are all locally made by Karoo Lavender, and are certainly of the highest quality.
