Experience country living on a historic Cape Dutch estate built 1802, centrally situated in the historic heart of Swellendam. The guest house is owner managed, offering superb hospitality with great attention to detail, focusing on quality, comfort and style.

3 Luxury cottages (1 double), 2 garden suites and 1 family unit with classic contempary décor, set in 1,5 hectares of luxuriant gardens with much indigenous flora and an abundance of birdlife.

Spacious guest areas in and around the historic house where one can relax and enjoy a drink in the lounge, on the patios or the veranda overlooking the gardens.

A memorable breakfast is given under the vines in summer and in front of the log fire in winter.

Swellendam is the jewel of the Overberg and the 3 rd oldest settlement in South Africa situated halfway between Cape Town and the start of the Garden Route. Swellendam is renowned for its architecture, fascinating history, potters and great outdoor life i.e. Horse riding, Hiking, Canoeing.

The area offers a variety of scenic routes which includes ;

De Hope Nature Reserve for whale watching and its pristine beaches.

The Tradouw pass to Barrydale, linking the Overberg to the Little Karoo.

Local wineroute with some outstanding award winning wines.

Bontebok National Park, only 7 km from Swellendam Golf : Well-maintained 9-hole golf course. Picturesque setting with fantastic views over the Langeberg mountains.

Cheese platters and a fine selection of local wines are offered -to enjoy in the comfort of your own room in front of a crackling fire or on your private patio -between November and April, for those who want to give a full on restaurant a miss.
